Abstract

It is the purpose of this thesis to analyze the work of Charles A. Beard, historian of American civilization with special reference to the American Revolution, the Constitutional Convention, Slavery and the Civil War, the Rise of Big Business, the Development of the West, the Spanish American War and the World War. This is accomplished through the discussion of certain topics taken from Rise of American Civilization, Vol. I and II and from Economic Interpretation of the Constitution.
