Abstract
This research assessed multidimensional aspects of the performance appraisal interview and the effect on employees' satisfaction with the interview and perceived effectiveness of the interview. The sample was comprised of 312 university staff employees. Results support combining judgmental and developmental components of the interview. Raters' and ratees' participation, as well as focusing on past and future goals were especially important predictors of the outcome measures.
