Abstract

In writing this thesis my aim will be to state the true facts as far as that lies within my ability. To accomplish this I will have to surmount obstacles of no small dimensions. In order to understand the difficulties which surround my efforts in this direction, we have only to recall how difficult it is to arrive at the knowledge of true and real facts in matters of everyday occurrences. To impress this later statement on our minds I make reference to the late United States Presidential election, it was by no means easy to become acquainted with the truth even when a most unbiased mind sought to weigh the charges and the counter-charges made be opposing candidates. I stress the fact that this controversy was aged in regard to events which had taken place during the la.st two or three years. The difficulty of arriving at a true verdict in regard to occurrences which are separated from our time by a period of centuries, becomes proportianetly (sic) greater.
