Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to determine, in a comparison of the editorial pages of the Chicago Tribune and the New York Times, the policies and attitudes of the two papers. Treatment of subject matter in all its primary aspects (fairness, accuracy, etc.) and style of writing will be considered. Judgment will be made on the value of each paper from the viewpoint of the reader and of the profession of journalism.
