Abstract
The illustrious age of Louis XIV has always been a source of vast material for those historians who take interest in dealing with it. Voluminous works have attempted to portray the many phases of human activity that is identified with the period of the Grand Monarch. From the French Court, at the time the Absolute Monarch was destined to supremacy, there came progressive measures, especially in the humanitarian spheres of Politics, Art and Literature, all of which contributed to the adventure of releasing creative ideas from the great minds of the Age. With evidence of brilliancy in the period, the bulwark for advancing culture was not diminished, despite the evils of despotism which resulted in the inevitable collapse of the French State. The periods that followed the Age of Louis XIV, even to the present day, were fortunate in receiving the heritage developed in times of conflict and diversities, characteristic in that memorable age.
