Abstract
Pew subjects are of greater importance in the primary grades than reading. Without it, all other branches are practically failures because reading is absolutely and unquestionably necessary for successful work in all studies. Therefore, it should be the principle aim of every primary teacher to develop fluent, intelligent readers in the lower grades.
