Abstract
It is my purpose, in this paper, to discuss the unit of the junior high school, the Home Room.
I have consulted the leading authorities on secondary education, junior high schools, and home rooms, in order that I may quote from the material that they have written on this subject.
I have found that much has been published in the last five years concerning the importance of the home room. I have obtained my material from books written about junior high schools, from books which discuss extra-curricular activities, from magazines, and from pamphlets.
I shall present my subject by giving the meaning of the term, by giving its value, its objectives, and its relation to the adolescent student. As a back ground I shall discuss briefly the aims of secondary education, and give the definition and aims of the junior high school. I shall record the principal ideas of these authorities, and in most cases, I shall quote them directly.
