Abstract
"All work and no play will make Jack a dull boy." Educators throughout the world to-day are beginning to realize the significance of said words. Shorter working hours, and the demand for mechanical power and devices, is increasing leisure very rapidly. It is just as necessary to prepare for the leisure time of life as it is for the work time of life, and what the great mass of people will do during their leisure time is the problem we are concerned with. When not at work one must choose between play and idleness - and Carlyle says, "Nine-tenths of the miseries and vices of mankind proceed from idleness."
