Abstract
As listed in the United States Census of occupations and home making the term "vocational" comprises all gainful occupations. (1) In order properly to understand the administration of vocational guidance, a practical survey of section 11 of the Smith-Hughes Act, of 1917, is necessary as a background to the genesis of this movement which promises to form the major problems of our schools for an indefinite period.
