Abstract
In the following paper the author has endeavored to develop the participation of women in the great conflict between the North and the South. the topic in general incluedes [sic] the labors of the loyal women of the North for the Union, and the work of the women in the South for the Confederacy. The Activities of both sections are very varied.
This paper has attempted to show impartially women's activity in the Civil War without regard to sectional limits. Books depicting the Northern side are consulted, and also books showing the true Southerner's viewpoint. The best authorities on both sides have been consulted.
