Abstract
The birth or this nation was the Revolution. A republic was created based upon traditions of personal liberty. American history has been the re-creation in each generation of that which was conceived at first. This re-creation has been necessary to America, because she has not grown only by the multiplication or the "original stock." It is easy to preserve tradition by the multiplication of the "original stock"; but it is not easy when the race is being renewed from other.sources. Each generation has witnessed strangers "indoctrinated." with American principles and has also witnessed how easy that infection has been. "For the principles of liberty are united with the principles or hope."
