Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to show how the present Parliament of England is really the product of long political evolution. The modern English Parliament is a representative body having legislative and executive powers. At the present time, the English people exercise their power through their elected representatives; and the repreaentatives that are elected to the House of Commons are the supreme authority.
