Abstract
Milwaukee County has done a great deal for the delinquent, neglected and dependent child. While the ultimate responsibility rests with the State a more imperative obligation for these children's welfare should be recognized as belonging to the counties. Delinquent, neglected and dependent children are the result of inadequate families. Early work with these families, may prevent their breakdown end the shirting of their responsibility to the public. The Milwaukee Juvenile Court endeavors to reach these homes in the early stages of corruption and to reconstruct conditions so as to bring the family back to normal conditions.
Through interviews and the study of pamphlets I have tried to bring out the importance of the work done by the Milwaukee Juvenile Court. Included in this thesis are reports from the various departments of the Court, illustrated in table form.
