Abstract
An amazing originality and. perfection of style, a marvelously vivid, and delicate feeling for concrete realities, a penetrating vision in the realms of the particular, an aptitude for seizing on that which was characteristic and unique made William James one of the most brilliant psychological writers of his day. Although he appreciated, as few are capable of doing, the material beauty of objects round about him, it was to the observation of the mysterious and fascinating psychic experience that he resolved to devote his great genius and exceptional mental powers
