Abstract

The basis of this thesis resides in an experiment performed by Dr. J.R. Koch of Marquette University during the summer of 1931. Dr. Koch poured some liquid emulsion into an "H" tube and attached the electrodes to a source of DC current. A few days later he noticed the wax bad separated from the emulsion and had passed to the positive electrode leaving the solution surrounding the negative electrode clear.
