Abstract
December 1832: That date marked the beginning of a memorable few months in the life of a colossal figure of the nineteenth century, John Henry Cardinal Newman-a figure scarcely possible of eclipse at any period and surely most outstanding at this particular epoch of the Anglican Church's history.
