Abstract

This thesis is by no means an exhaustive presentation of the subject "The Hyperbola" or of the many and varied properties connected with this conic section and its associated parts. The aim in writing this paper has been to give a general outline of the history of the development of the hyperbola, to show the various constructions of it, and, with this as a basis, to show the relation between the hyperbola and its connected parts.
