Abstract
Plato was born about 42? B.C. at Athens, the son of noble parents. Little critical biography of Plato exists, but it seems quite probable that the political turmoil of his times influenced his considerably in the writing of the REPUBLIC. The REPUBLIC of Plato is the interesting original of numerous Utopias on political science that have been written periodically since that time, e.g. Cicero's "Republic", Moore's "Utopia", Hobbe's "Leviathean", Carl Marx"Theory of Government", Bellamy's "Looking Backwards".
