Abstract

For years chemists have been attempting to produce multiple immiscible liquid phase systems. The author has discovered a system of eight liquid phases in equilibrium. The eighth layer is a silicone oil. In order to utilize the silicone oil it was necessary to change two of the seven phases previously recorded.
