Abstract

Up to the present time there appears to have been very little research done on the thyroid or adrenal glands of the turtle. This seems to be especially true in respect to the effects of estrogens on these two glands. However, some work has been reported on other members of the reptilian family; particularly garter snakes, and more recently, the lizard.
