Abstract

The object of this thesis is to ascertain as far as possible the accuracy and dependability of foreign news coverage of newspapers of a score of years ago. For that purpose the subject, "International Rivalry in Arms" was chosen. The subject served a double purpose. It served primarily as a rigid criterion of newspaper fact presenting ability and secondly as a fertile field for an examination of editorial interpretation.
