Abstract
In the writing of this thesis, the author, who is just an ordinary player himself, has read the books of some of the greatest authorities of the game. To Raymond W. Suchy of the Washington Park Tennis Club, the writer is deeply indebted for suggestions, experiments, and material on tennis. Also to Louis Rechygl, president of the Washington park Tennis club, who kindly submitted information regarding plays used in tennis.
