Abstract

Every class of pupils in any grade vary in arithmetical abilities as well as abilities in other subjects. Differences among children are great. The need for a diagnosis becomes very apparent and will indicate what remedial work must be done. Many pupils fail to grasp the process taught and reteaching is necessary if the children are to overcome difficulties and acquire skills in the use of certain facts and principles that are essential. Therefore a diagnostic and remedial program is very important.
