Abstract
This thesis concerns itself with a comparison of traditional or subjective tests and new type or objective tests. There are various phases of teaching that must be considered in dealing with this subject of tests. First teachers' marks must be examined in order to see to what extent they are based on tests and on judgment. Types of traditional examinations should be reviewed and compared with new-type tests. The advantages of both types should be considered. I shall give types of objective examinations and list advantages and disadvantages of each. Such concepts as validity, reliability, objectivity, sampling etc. shall be introduced.
