Abstract
Ricarda Huch cannot be called a poet of the people. Her writings are too individual., too philosophical and psychological to be appreciated by the masses. But among those readers who, like her, are imbued with romantic ideals, who feel the urge for self-expression, who have a natural appreciation for genuine lyric poetry, who love indulgence in dreamy fancies, philosophical reflection and sudden, quick changes of mood - among these she has won a reputation which places her among the foremost Romanticists of the later school.
