Abstract
In the science of enzymology many hitherto unknown facts have been discovered. Among these are the facts which show that certain substances or conditions will accelerate, inhibit, or poison an enzyme reaction. Thus, heavy metals, oxidizing agents, etc., will prevent the enzyme from working at a normal rate or even "kill" the enzyme completely. Again, certain materials or co-enzymes will speed up and increase the enzyme power of a substance.
