Abstract
Foreign accent is a great social hindrance to a man handicapped by it. His natural fear of making an error in his speech keeps him isolated by making him afraid to associate with other people. As a result he becomes morose, despondent, and wishes he had stayed in the country where such inter¬ course would not be feared.
