Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to present a survey of the characteristic intermediate grades reading activities. An analysis of the interests, habits and attitudes is given in the first chapter. Specific objectives are treated in the following chapter, while the third chapter deals with type lessons. Remedial Work and Testing is the purpose of the next chapter. The levels of achievement are outlined in the last chapter. Opinions secured by experts in reading have been used in this thesis . Books and magazines, secured at the Milwaukee Public Library and the Marquette University Library have furnished the writer with much of the material .
