Abstract
Fame and the actor. All art is a study of life; but there is only one art in which the reward is of life. The poet, the painter, the writer, and the actor, all study and portray truths of human life, the beautiful in universal emotions of mankind. However, the artist of the pen or brush must submit his work to the test of time, to prove its power, its universal appeal or approbation, and thus, through the years, increase or diminish the fame of the creator. The only art in which the artist may glory in his own triumphs is that of the actor.
