Abstract
A university professor in characterizing journalists said,"I have always considered the journalists the alert of the alert. Perhaps there may be some arguments against this statement by those engaged in other professions but the fa.ct remains that a journalist to be successful must be one vitally interested in every phase of life and ¢ust have a true sense of news values in discovering the interesting facts in society as he sees it. He must know what will hold the interest of his readers and must be ready at any time to obtain that bit of news which rill interest his readers. Along with this ability in obtain ing: news a journalist must be able to express these ideas clearly in order that his readers muy be able to unde - stand his news , tory. i1herefore we say that the first re quirement of a journulist is the ubillty to discover news and. the o.bility to expres-s that news in a clea:t and inter esting manner to his readers
