Abstract
Along the shore line of Lake Michigan are bluffs approximately fifty to sixty feet high above the level of the lake. With the exception of approximately two or three miles, where the ground elevation is not much above the lake level these bluffs are almost continuous along the shore. This low land extends from a short distance north of Wisconsin Street to a short distance south of the Illinois Steel Company's plant. The territory north of Wisconsin Street to the City Limits is almost entirely residential and, therefore, cannot be considered favorably as regards to the location of a mnufacturing site.
