Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to ascertain, by a comparison of the editorial pages of the Chicago Tribune and the New York Times, the general attitude and tone of the two papers. Page make-u.p, reader appeal, style, versatility, and controversial attitude, are considered in judging the character of the paper. The papers are to be judged as to their journalistic value, and their worth to their readers.
