Abstract
The primary purpose in the writing of this thesis on "Department Store Advertising" is to give the department store viewpoint in the conduct of advertising, with the newspaper as a focal medium. Volumes have been written regarding the newspaper's side in this kind of advertising, but the advertisers have received little mention. It is to this end that a study was made of the conduct of advertising by these retail establishments and this thesis will embody the findings.
