Abstract
This is a thesis on Mexico, Mexicans and the changes in ancient and modern cultural phases that have developed there since the Spanish conquest. It is the result or careful study of the works of authentic writers, backed by three summer seasons in attendance at the National University of Mexico and accented by close contact with members or all classes of inhabitants over quite a large portion of the country. In gathering the material based on personal contact I was aided by leaders in education, especially history, archeology, science and art; I was also aided by two local representatives of the United States Government.
