Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the law of newspaper contempt of court as it exists and is enforced today, to determine whether or not it is being abused by judges, and, if it is to suggest means of correction. Should it be found that such abuses exist, rectification could be brought about through legislative measures to curb the power of the courts in punishing alleged contempts committed outside the presence of the court.
