The word is an expressed symbol of an idea. Thia expression is to be read as well as written. Our knowledge of word forms comes through the sense of sight and hearing and they are acted upon by the judgment which affirms or denies the identity of ideas and gives the material in this juclgnent for a new judgment, this process being reasoning.
