Abstract

In this paper, it will be the purpose of the writer to discuss the types of sterility found in the Hyacinthus orien­talis and to locate the causes of this condition in the flower, with a view to possible improvement of the plant for purposes of cultivation. In speaking of a type of sterility, reference is made to some well-defined and frequently recurring condition which breaks that chain of processes that leads normally to fruit and seed production.
