Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to observe, select, and make a critical analysis of certain techniques discernible in the Catholic Drama of our day, and, after such selection and analysis, to endeavor to come to some definite conclusion with respect to their validity and possibility of further development in Catholic dramaturgic work.

The method of procedure has been as follows:

(1) There has been an attempt to trace the connection between the mediaeval drama and the Catholic Drama of the present day.

(2) There has been a consideration of the place of the Catholic Theatre in world literature.

(3) There has been a. study of dramatic technique suitable for the Catholic Theatre.
