Abstract

Some of the famous actresses mentioned in "Famous Early American Actresses" are of foreign birth. They were brought to America at an early age and received most of their dramatic training here. They, nevertheless, are given the title of American Actresses by many famous biographers; such as Quinn in 'The History of American Drama" and Izard in "Heroines of the Modern Stage."
