Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to record the history of The Wisconsin News from its beginning in 1836 to the present day. In addition to tracing the lineage from its start as The Milwaukee Advertiser to the inception of The Wisconsin News in 1919, the thesis also includes the drastic changes in makeup and, in detail, describes the national and local editorial policies.
