Abstract
The purpose of writing this thesis is to study the works of Peter Doerfler so as to get some knowledge of his contribution to present day literature. Another reason is to learn how Doerfler ranks in the minds of the leading literary critics and to ascertain what his possible role in Catholic literature in particular and German literature in general will be. A third reason is to point out the outstanding qualities of Doerfler's works.
