Abstract
The purpose of this thesis on Prison Journalism in the United States is twofold. First, its object is to give an idea of what inmates of criminal institutions in this country are doing in the way of editing publications and of writing magazine articles and books. The second purpose of this thesis is to indicate that although prison life makes good writing difficult, prisoners should be encouraged and aided to write.
