Abstract

The title reaction was originally reported to afford the E,Z-η⁴-diene complex. Reexamination of the spectral data and decomplexation of the ligand indicates that the product is a σ-π-allyl complex.

The title reaction affords a σ-π-allyl complex, instead of an η⁴-diene complex as originally reported (Tetrahedron Lett., 1988, 1343).
