Abstract
My interest in Peter Abelard is of long standing, although academically, the more immediate impetus for this dissertation can be traced to a reading of Abelard's Ethics and The School of Peter Abelard as an assignment for a course in Twelfth Century Theology given by Dr. Keith Egan. The transformation of this interest into a full fledged study of Peter Abelard as expositor of Scripture has not been achieved, however, without assistance from a variety of sources.
