Abstract
The ultimate goal of this research is to develop and implement a novel framework through statistical estimation [14, 15] for performing distributed microphone speech enhancement on noisy speech signals. The distributed microphone statistical estimators are categorized into the following classes: I. Time Domain Estimation 2. Spectral Amplitude Estimation 3. Perceptually-Motivated Spectral Amplitude Estimation 4. Spectral Phase Estimation 5. Complex Real and Imaginary Spectral Component Estimation For the spectral amplitude estimators, the key component to improvements in quality and intelligibility is due to the spectral phase estimator. Overall, the derived systems have the ability to estimate the true source signal with application to many consumer, industrial, and military products...
