Abstract
In the course of making electrical measurements on powdered semiconductor-metal aggregates, it was discovered that the current-voltage characteristics of these aggregates exhibit negative-differential-resistance and switching effects. This phenomena appeared to be novel and appropriate for investigation. This dissertation reports the results of that investigation. The initial research on semiconductor-metal powder aggregates was done by the author while under the supervision of Dr. Ralph Stajdohar, currently of Argonne National Laboratories.
