Abstract
This paper first introduces an exponentially convergent reduced-order observer for state reconstruction of uncertain nonlinear systems. Then, the state estimates obtained arc used in a dynamical compensation scheme for exponential stabilization of the controlled system. The nonlinear gains utilized in the observer and controller are similar to those of the variable structure designs but continuous in nature and result in simpler convergence analysis.
