Abstract
This paper searches for alternative and creative methods of utilizing surplus public school space due, primarily, to the decline in enrollment of the 1970's. Although boards of education sometimes need to retrench to save dollars, it must be remembered that the schools have been an integral part of the communities and decisions for the use of surplus building space should always serve the public interest.
