Abstract
The words "deaf" and "hard of hearing" are terms that are often misunderstood. When people hear those words, they often believe the words are synonymous . However, they, in fact, define two distinct groups of people with different educational, psychosocial and counseling needs. Thus, it is critical to distinguish between the two groups.
