Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of using the Differential Aptitude Test (DAT)1 as an instrument for ability grouping in English by A) examining the results of grouping one hundred ninety-four students, using Differential Aptitude Test scores as the basis for grouping; and B) checking the students' achievement in these groups by administering the Iowa Test of Educational Development (ITED)2.
